Molex High-Density Multiport Optical EMI Shielding Adapters

EMI shielding adapters address mechanical design requirements limiting EMI and radio frequency interference (RFI) emissions from front panels or enclosures. High-Density Multiport Optical EMI Shielding Adapters (up to 15 ports) from Molex are constructed of either all die-cast housings or as a half die-cast, half polymer housing. Housings have an EMI gasket that seals the adapters to the panel. The adapters increase shielding effectiveness while enhancing front panel aesthetics compared to traditional plastic adapters.

New Core-Centering Splicer for Optical Fibers Splice Six Seconds

The FITEL S179 is the new core-centering three-axis splicer from FITEL Furukawa for me¬tro, LAN, FTTx, and all bend-insensitive fibers. Splicing a fiber takes only six seconds in semi-automatic operation, and applying a protection sleeve takes nine seconds. A charged battery can operate for up to 200 splicing cycles!

The 4.3”-large touchscreen and the large opening of the splicing chamber make hand¬ling much easier. Four bright LEDs provide the best interior lighting, even under poor lighting conditions.

The user terminal box FTB-1050 and the patch cord TF-LSAF60-Y015 form a group that provides extra security and strength in the task of registering new fiber optics subscribers.

The FTB-1050 is the terminal box chosen by many installers because it has a great aesthetic finish and an extra slim design. But the main advantage is that the SC adapter remains protected and inaccessible to the user inside the box. On the other hand, it incorporates clips to hold the cable reserves inside and prevent it from being teared out.

A fan-in/fan-out device is one of the key components of multi-core fiber transmission systems. The developed device addresses individual cores of a multicore fiber and ensures low loss, reliable and robust connection. Fan-in/fan-out devices are tailored to the requirements of a multicore structure. Whilst standard single mode fibers compatible with G.652 are used in our device, other fibre types may be available. Our device enables the exploitation of multicore fibres within an existing optoelectronic infrastructure.

EGIDE 100G to 400G Packages

EGIDE introduces a new series of packages dedicated to 100Gb/s and 400Gb/s applications. The family of TOSA, ROSA and (µ)ICR packages is compliant with the OIF and CFP standards. RF performance of the ceramic transitions is above 40 GHz and ideal for current 100G use and opens the road towards the next 200G and 400G transceivers. EGIDE also proposes a complete portfolio of modulator, laser, pump and WSS packages for AON. Specific SMD driver packages for 4xQAM 400Gb/s will be displayed.

EFFECT Photonics will be demonstrating its optical ‘System-on-Chip’ technology platform at ECOC.

This platform integrates all of the active and passive components of a DWDM system within a single chip. This combined with EFFECT’s novel packaging technology eliminates the need for the usual traditional ‘gold box’. Port density is increased by over 6-times and operational expenses reduced by 40% when compared with existing approaches.

Working conditions of the equipment require that casing manufacturers meet the stringent technical and utility requirements. BKT internal industrial cabinets with a rating of IP55 are designed to provide effective protection for the equipment inside. On many occasions, cabinets are placed in areas with high dust content or production halls with adverse ambient conditions affecting directly the electronics. Where air conditioning or fire extinguishing system cannot be provided, e.g. in historic buildings, BKT internal industrial cabinets, rating IP55, are a perfect solution.
